| Being able to create the right barcode when you need it, where you need it, can make a major contribution to the ease of your organization’s processes. If barcodes are not a regular part of what you do, it may be difficult to justify the investment in a hardware solution, but this shouldn’t mean you end up with a solution that is undependable or unintelligible. |
The OCR + Barcode Module lets you create and insert barcodes from common Windows or Apple Macintosh applications. For simple barcodes this is as easy as typing in text. For more complicated barcodes, simple programs integrate into your application for greater flexibility or to independently update barcodes in form letters or other automated documents. |
How the OCR + Barcode Module works
| The OCR + Barcode Module adds TrueType and PostScript fonts to your system. To add a simple barcode to a document, you select the appropriate barcode font, and type in, scale and position the barcode like any other text. A simple application helps you create barcodes with checksums or readable text below the barcode. The DDE interface of this program can also automate the barcodes in a document, for example, in mail-merge letters (examples are provided for all major software packages). |
The additional Barcode Generator software helps you create the barcodes supported by the font package, as well as the 2 dimensional (2D) PDF 417 barcode, with control over width, height, colour and framing. You can link/embed these barcodes into your document via the clipboard (OLE interface).
The Barcode Generator can also save barcodes in encapsulated postscript format. The high print quality of today’s HP LaserJet printers ensures that the barcode can be easily read by all kinds of barcode readers. |

- Optional printout of plain text possible (except Code 128).
- Scalable symbols, e.g. Euro currency symbol, glass breakage, explosive, recycling, skull, etc.
- Product tag VDA4902 Version 3 (Odette), including symbol for safety parts.

Special Features
- The Barcode Generator is a separate software tool for the generation of automatically updating barcodes that are freely adjustable in width and height and can be in colored or framed.
