How Prescribe Emulation works
| Prescribe emulation, either installed on a memory module in your printer, or running on your print server, examines incoming print data, and when it recognises Prescribe data, performs the necessary translation to create a replica of the Kyocera printout on the HP LaserJet printer. The FormMaker software delivered with Prescribe emulation helps you develop electronic forms on your computer screen. The resulting electronic overlays are then stored on the memory module or on the server, for use by practically any application – including SAP R/2 and R/3 and most other ERP applications – printing to Kyocera or HP LaserJet printers, independently of platform and operating system. |
When the form is being printed Prescribe emulation automatically includes and formats relevant data from the print job as well as data from other sources, and controls paper handling.
Because the form overlay is on the print server or in the printer, only the variable data for the form needs to be transmitted, which means that Prescribe emulation helps to relieve network congestion. |
