It is an intelligent, scalable and efficient system with extensive possibilities for modifying and enhancing print streams, without having to tackle the complicated and proprietary applications that generate them. W-ELP automates the printing of forms and form sets on blank paper, with or without watermarks, it controls input and output trays and stapling devices, and it can even archive, e-mail or distribute the print stream. |
How W-ELP works
Depending on your infrastructure, W-ELP runs on the spool server, on the printer, or on independent hardware attached to the printer's data input. It emulates a printer’s non-volatile memory (hard disk or flash DIMM, for example) to act as both a versatile forms repository and a virtual multi-tray printer. Anybody can design templates for W-ELP using their application of choice (Microsoft Word, for example). An easily maintained control file configures how W-ELP combines templates with data from the print stream and other sources, and controls the printing of originals and copies. |
For further flexibility, W-ELP can react to specific printers, users, or data in the print stream.
It can use these triggers to select templates, manipulate printed data or escape sequences, control functionality (such as limiting the use of colour printing on colour printers), log specific values, and so on. |

Special Features

- Copy incoming or generated print streams to different printers, archives or to other destinations using external programs (FTP, for example).
- Release archived print jobs by a simple click, or by
an event (e.g. to reprint student material for trainings).
- Enhance print job processing with rule-based printing, based on pre-defined triggers or print job parameters such as number of pages, paper-size, use of colour,
person submitting, and so on.
- Delete, add or manipulate data within print streams to remap input or output trays, modify paper margins, or make many other changes while you print.

- Enhanced font handling by download of soft fonts on the fly to the printer when needed, for example OCR for cheque printing.
- Automate sending of e-mail copies to predefined or variable addresses.
- Store print job information in CSV files for further processing (e.g. for print job accounting or client billing).
